Project Goal:
The project aims to enhance legal protection and accountability for victims of repression in Georgia by challenging unlawful surveillance and personal data processing, police violence, and impunity. Through strategic litigation, legal documentation, and analysis, the project will address systemic rights violations and promote institutional reform in line with international human rights standards.
Project Objectives:
1. Initiate strategic litigation to challenge alleged unlawful surveillance and personal data processing before the Personal Data Protection Service (PDPS) and national courts;
2. Document and analyze the effectiveness of the PDPS by preparing legal and analytical reports on personal data breaches;
3. Evaluate the performance of the Special Investigation Service (SIS)/Prosecutor’s Office of Georgia by documenting and analyzing its response to police violence during the 2024 protests.
